The Best of You
The challenges, pains, and benefits of being a runner
By Celina Costa
How do you face your challenges? What do you do when none else seems to believe in you?
This book is about Celina’s history and how she conquered over 200 medals and around 40 trophies, her learning experiences, and how to live more substantially than ever, putting more effort toward your life goals. Celina Costa is an American citizen originally from Brazil. She started working as a house cleaner when she was eleven. Celina had a tough life. When she was 29 years old, she was addicted to cigarettes and alcohol and felt hopeless. In 1998, confronted by a friend who challenged her to run 10 kilometers, Celina accepted it. That same week, she applied to run a full marathon of 42k 195m, despite never practicing any exercise. A significant part of this history is that Celina managed to finish that marathon. She almost died that day but committed to God during the racing. “God, if you help me finish this marathon, I will stop smoking.” She said. That was a life-changing experience when she finally crossed the finish line for the first time in her life. That was the beginning of a new life of incredible and exciting adventures for Celina.
